Ok, so here I am sitting here writing a journal entry to thank all the people that are flooding over my gallery and raining on me with kind words and praise. All at a time when I probably could not feel more unappreciated or devalued. I had a hard year this year after returning from Grand Rapids Michigan, after being one of the artists competing in "ArtPrize"  http://www.artprize.org/artists/public-profile/48924 and coming up empty handed. My entry was 11 months in the making and required a huge sacrifice to complete. Every art career goes through those stages, you know. We start out capturing things as though the objects of our selfish desires. Then as we mature we begin to see things as they fit together. We begin to seek to understand and capture the strands that tie it all together rather than those individual points of focus. We also tend to approach art as a personal pleasure at our earliest attempts. Then we get laid and are all giddy and stupid with notions of conquest before we mellow into truly pleasing our viewer. solarspawn Could not have said it better!
